“It was regrettable. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a large group of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the gesture was entirely unintentional, happening amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he noted. “It was accidentally performed. This is sincere. Should you call it accidental, you can. But it got resolved pretty quick.”
