Brinkman assumes the leadership position at 31st Union following the exit of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to the game's lackluster initial reveal last autumn.

On Wednesday, the company's top executive David Ismailer updated employees about this organizational change through an official communication, which stressed that playtesting had shown the necessity for a clearer game identity.

The president expressed that the team is now overhauling Project Ethos with a revised focus, aiming to satisfy community desires.

This announcement follows a similar step taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to assist with the beloved franchise development group.

Through your commitment and versatility, particularly over the last year, you consistently demonstrate that.

The gamer responses from last fall’s the game demo was revealing. It confirmed the promise of a roguelike shooter but indicated we still had refinements needed. It uncovered the need for a sharper identity.

It has been motivating to see how far you’ve progressed. You accepted the input to consideration and revamped Project ETHOS with a refreshed vision - one that’s ready to deliver on its ambition to our audience.

Our confidence in Project ETHOS strengthens every day. To advance the outstanding development you’ve made, I am thrilled to welcome the new hire as the new Lead of 31st Union. Following some time of discussions, Ben comes aboard us on Monday, October 20.
